A little bit about us…

I’ve always loved food. Some of my earliest memories are of me mixing up pancake batter on Saturday mornings and having to wake my mom up to turn on the stove because I was too young to cook them myself. I still love pancakes to this day; but have been experimenting with recipes so that I’m able to eat them while minding some of my food sensitivities – which is what ultimately has brought me here, to you.

I’ve struggled for years with bloating, cramping and poor digestion. I’ve worked with naturopaths and nutritionists in order to solve my digestive issues and lead a healthier lifestyle. Through a lot of trial and error, I’ve finally found a dietary lifestyle that leaves me feeling satisfied, not deprived, and supports good digestive function. I’ve never felt better and want to share what I’ve learned over the years with others who might be struggling to improve their eating habits.

In addition to being mindful of what I’m eating, I also think it’s important to keep fit. I’ve always enjoyed going to the gym, so much so that I was a personal trainer for a few years. I’ve also enjoyed yoga, pilates, belly dancing, boxing, P90X and running. These days much of my exercise comes from running after my 3 little ones, but now that they’re older I’m trying to squeeze in some weight routines whenever I can.

I have always been one to say that women need to have their curves – I just enjoy eating too much (and baking and sweets in general). About 2.5 years ago, I changed my diet in terms of eating more vegetables and fruit, and less of everything else (less sweets, less mindless munching). It resulted in unplanned weight loss. Since then I feel much healthier and my tastes have changed.

There are always things to improve and I know I can improve on many things – like drinking more or stopping to eat when I am full. And I want to eat healthy as a role model for my family. Especially after I was pregnant, I learned how annoying a big belly can be in everyday life.

Changing my eating habits was not that hard for me because I had a great accountability buddy. I believe that everybody is able to change their food plan for the better and I want to be your accountability buddy – to help you to enjoy the advantages of a healthier eating style without ever feeling deprived of something.
